Winter 2026 Blessing Bag Drive

Warmth. Dignity. Essentials.

Bags of Blessings is bringing practical winter essentials directly to people experiencing homelessness in our community — one bag at a time.

35–50BLESSING BAGS
OUR FIRST WINTER GOAL
Winter 2026 Campaign

Our goal: 35–50 completed Blessing Bags.

We're starting small on purpose. The goal is to build a manageable first winter drive, document what the community makes possible and get every completed bag into someone's hands.

CAMPAIGN PROGRESS0 / 50
We'll update this as donated items are received and complete bags are assembled.
The Issue

Basic necessities shouldn't be out of reach.

For people without stable housing, everyday essentials — clean socks, toiletries, food and protection from the cold — can be difficult to obtain consistently.

Winter makes those immediate needs even more urgent. We can't solve homelessness with a bag. But we can meet some of the needs a person has today, with useful items offered with care and respect.

Our Response

The Blessing Bag

Each bag is filled with practical, new essentials for a person experiencing homelessness during the winter months.

Warmth

New socks, gloves, knit hats and hand warmers.

Hygiene

Toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, wipes, soap and lip balm.

Food

Individually packaged, shelf-stable snacks and bottled water.

Everyday Care

Tissues and other useful personal-care essentials.

How It Works

Simple. Tangible. Transparent.

This drive is about donated goods going into Blessing Bags and Blessing Bags going into the hands of people experiencing homelessness.

01 · COLLECT

Community members donate items.

Businesses, groups and individuals contribute new items from the requested needs list.

02 · PACK

We assemble the bags.

Donated items are organized and packed into 35–50 practical winter Blessing Bags.

03 · DISTRIBUTE

We get them to people who need them.

The completed bags are distributed to people experiencing homelessness during the winter campaign.

No monetary donations are being requested for this campaign. We are asking for useful, new goods that can go directly into the Blessing Bags.
Who's Behind This?

Hi, I'm J. Avery.

Bags of Blessings is a grassroots community project I started because I wanted to do something practical for people who could use a little help.

I'm not a large organization with a staff or a big operating budget. I'm one person working to bring businesses, organizations and people in the community together around a simple goal: fill useful bags and get them into the hands of people who need them.

Transparency: Bags of Blessings is an independent grassroots community initiative, not a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. This Winter 2026 drive is requesting donated goods and supplies — not monetary donations.

Questions

Before you contribute.

Are you asking for money?

No. The Winter 2026 campaign is focused on in-kind donations: new items and supplies that can be placed directly into Blessing Bags.

Is Bags of Blessings a 501(c)(3)?

No. Bags of Blessings is an independent grassroots community initiative. We state that clearly so potential contributors know exactly what they are supporting.

Do I have to provide enough for all 50 bags?

No. Every contribution helps. Ten pairs of socks, 20 toothbrushes or one case of snacks can be combined with contributions from other supporters.

Can my business or organization organize a collection drive?

Yes. A group collection is a great way to help gather one or several items from the needs list.

What condition should donated items be in?

Please contribute new, unused and unopened items appropriate for individual distribution.

Coming Summer 2027

Backpacks for kids.

Our next seasonal project will focus on collecting backpacks and school supplies for children whose families could use some extra help preparing for the school year.

Ready To Help?

One item. One box. One collection drive. It all counts.

If you can contribute new items for the Winter 2026 Blessing Bag Drive, tell us what you can provide. We'll coordinate the details with you directly.
